The HurtMe Cat-O-Nine Tails Ariande is just a sight to behold, it is by far the prettiest whip that I currently own – just look at it! It’s stunning! It is approx 31.4” in total length, 7.8” of which is the handle. It features 10 (not 9 as the name would suggest) “tails” of tightly plaited black and purple strips of leather which form a beautiful diamond pattern. At the end of each tail it is knotted, leaving 4 loose strips per tail which feel very soft.
The handle is a plastic tube that houses the tails that is first wrapped in purple leather which then has a second layer of black leather that is laced together, resembling the back of a corset. There is a large leather loop at the base of the handle for both added security when wielding and for hanging up after use.
In Use:
Holding the HurtMe Cat-O-Nine Ariande feels very natural and one of the first things I noticed was that the handle is actually a little slimmer than normal which is certainly great for those with smaller hands. The Leather loop is nice and large, making it easy to fit your hand in (you’d be surprised how many get this wrong) and the combination of the leather and the lace provides a very solid grip. So no worries about throwing it across the room and accidentally hitting that sonovabitch cat that just sits there, watching and judging you all day.
The tails are quite rigid to begin with but with use and time they do loosen up a little but the first few whacks across my thigh to get a feel for it were a little awkward. I found the sting of the strips on the end to be very tolerable, sure it left a nice stingy sensation but I feel falls somewhere in the middle for how much it hurts. Of course this is entirely dependant on the pain threshold of yourself or your intended victim.

It has a great balance that just works really well. At £67.68 it is quite expensive but when you hold it in your hands, look at the quality and attention to detail in its construction you will see and feel exactly what you are paying for. This toy is a great, devious idea and the kind of challenge that subs love - theoretically. Practically, there are two issues. First of all, while the thumb is well arrested by the clamp, the other fingers are free to do mischief - in particular, to unscrew all the screws and thus liberate the sub in no time. To prevent this, one needs to tie up the other four fingers - the only solution I found was to wrap them in duct tape. It´s doable but not quite that elegant. The other and even more fundamental problem: the grip of the nipple clamp is created by tightening the screws. As any experienced top would no, screws tend to loosen a bit over time while body parts tend to wiggle around and over time tend to get free. The result: after 5-10 minutes the nipple clamps will come lose. This is aided by the surface area of the clamp - the riffles are orthogonal to the body, which means that they would resist movement to the right or left (which would not be any concern) but don´t really resist slipping forward and off the nipples. Finally, the choice of wing screws is "sub"optimal because the clamp will sit tight against the sub's body and screwing the wing screws therefore will require bending the nipple away from the body which isn't exactly helping the procedure to firmly position the clamps as close to the body as possible. Feedback to Dr. Sado: You need to go back to the design board to address these issues! In the end, clamps with a spring would work much better, and you either need to accompany these clamps with a special fist mitt that has an opening for the thumb - or attach a D-ring to the nipple clamps where traditional fist mitts with a D-ring can be attached.

I am really satisfied with the newly acquired sling, though I had no time to use more than twice I already know that the inversion was well worth. The frame is robust, quite easily mountable, with a bit of practice I need about 15 minutes to mount as well as to dismount the whole stuff. The sling itself is made of a nylon/textile material which is easy to maintain clean, quite comfortable and adjustable to the desired height.
Some drawbacks: The set comes with a big sport-bag where you can store everything, but to tell the truth is quite tricky to find the way to fit everything in. And it's bloody heavy, around 30 kilos, so you can call the set portable but don't expect to carry it easily from one place to an other, definitely is not to take with you on the bus ;) The straps and carabiners where you attach the sling itself are strong and reliable, but they can make you feel uncomfortable after a while as they are against your skin and can scratch you.
